Hi! My name is Amanda and, like you, I grew up with a narcissistic mother. It took me a long time to recognise the problem and work towards healing. 

Was your mother critical, judgemental, intolerant and demanding? As an adult, you may have cut your mother out of your life. But for many daughters, our mother's  legacy stays with us. 

As we mature into adults, we carry a self-critical inner voice. We might also be perfectionists who judge ourselves harshly when we fail to live up to our mothers impossible standards. That is why self-compassion is so important for Daughters of narcissistic mothers  is a huge part of the journey. 

Many daughters also live alongside chronic shame, with underlying feelings of worthlessness poisoning our relationship with ourselves.
